God morning, Dave - it's really easy to read - recommended.
Science-lite, you might say. Better than science-heavy in my book. That's for nerds...

Mariaki - it's true, we are made of energy - but what is energy?
What are atoms made of? This is the stuff of mystery... Mind you, I wasn't feeling very energetic yesterday... I've slept in late so let's hope I'm a bit more lively today!

It's on my interminable list of stuff to read. I know what I'm made of...

Oh no, that's 'full of' - people keep telling me that one.

Thanks Circuit - appreciate it!

Hello Rae- yes, I agree - best of all would be night-time when fast asleep.
I wonder if we can place an order for it to be delivered at our preferred time?

Hi OneBetty - depends if it lands on my side of the globe or not.
If it does, I'll try to warn you!

Hi Durbio - ah, you've read some of his travel books? So have I!
Well, they're more like funny / satire books aren't they? Not sure what you mean by AT. God morning and thanks, mate!

posted by Antonionioni on August 7, 2007 at 1:16 AM | link to this | reply

Hmmmmm a poser indeed!
I think I'll stick with what I already know - energy I reckon that's what we are made of, so bring it on

posted by mariaki on August 7, 2007 at 1:15 AM | link to this | reply

Hi Spencer - thanks very much for that - a great little summary.
That's true - and also supernova explosions have helped to create some of the heavy elements that led to the planetary rocks and other heavier elements. It's amazing, the chain of events that has led to us being here. Nothing could have gone differently to how it did - even down to the relatively recent meteoric impact of 65 million years ago which wiped out the dinosaurs and led to the rise of larger mammals...

Very interesting and well written, Tony
I'd rather not see it coming; dread a most dreaded state to be in...:)

Anto" We are ALL made up from star-dust! Yep, that's right let me explain
in probably a very, very poor way! LOL. Anti-matter and matter came together and annihalated one another and what was left over was 10-to-the-power-of-80 (that's a 1 followed by 80 zeros!) matter particals, which were photons. If there was slightly less the universe would have collapsed on itself as a gigantic black hole and if it were slightly more, the universe would have spread so fast that the galixy would not have had time to form stars, plants etc. So, that in itself is a MIRICLE. Now, hydrogen passed through a phase called duterium (some one please check this) and particles became micro organisms and we evolved. So, we really are made up of the same stuff as the stars. We are literally STAR-DUST. Ohhhhhhh, that makes me feel so good, and so loved. What a miricle it is that I now sit here using a keyboard set out known as the QWERTY system - (first 6 letters across the top line) and DID YOU KNOW the word TYPEWRITER can be spelt out using the top line of a keyboard. So many mysteries, so little time! Anyway, back to more pressing issues - the Sonnet was brilliant, as always.

Hi Enny - we must be made of something - but what?
At least Poe admitted he didn't know - but maybe that's cause he was often a bit the worse for wear!

Hi Mary - I just mean she's not very cool. As long as you don't mind that
then she's okay. Maybe she's a bit too nicey nicey to be taken seriously in this country. The younger generation don't really do nicey nicey music, so that means although she is still young, most of her audience is probably the middle-aged! Which isn't really how it should be... except for classical music artists who have an older age group of listeners.

Antonio
I keep reminding you of "Poe's" profound question - "Is all that we see or seem, but a dream within a dream?" Maybe we're made up of Mr. Scott's "anti-matter!"  LOL!

Antonio-yo-yo - Kind of a humourous take on what has created
us for certain.  As in the book you're reading, you've covered most everything.  Now what is your conclusion?    Ha, ha, just kidding.  What do you mean Katie is, 'maligned' in Britain?

Thanks Dickinson - in a funny way it's kinda comforting-
better than watching it come closer and closer - altho that would happen with a comet!

Lennon explained it all..Imagination

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Cool Sonnet Tony! ~Peace, OTA
