This is so true. I have female friends that make the man in their life, their everything. I just started dating someone that travels a lot for work and though it is hard, when he comes back our time together is even more special. We spend the time catching up. While he is gone i am almost forced to be independent and go out. I was pretty independent before I met him but now it seems harder to be since there is someone in my life. Getting out helps me from missing him so much.

yes I really have to force myself to have a life-not my nature
I know I am helplessly male dominated, so I strive to be a person too without him.  I am fortunate I know to have a husband who lets me be me.  It is easy to get lost in us, and lose me in the process.  I used to try to get my needs met in this relationship but that was not healthy for me or us.  I have searched to find my own voice.
