Sometimes the ultimate luxury for a busy mom is 5 minutes of solitude.
I used to get up at 5:00 a.m. and take fifteen minutes for myself with a cup of coffee on the back porch, listening to bird songs, breathing in the fresh morning air. There was always chaos once the kids were up, food to cook, clothes to watch, fights to referee, places to go, and that was outside the paid-work day. I don't know how I kept my sanity. Maybe I didn't.
