Thanks Irish, Grandpa actually died before I was born. Dad and I went fishing together a lot when I was a youngster and he had time. He was a farmer, and loved the outdoors.

Dave, All my life people have told me that I am different. When I began writing, I started writing silly stories--maybe to prove them right. I never met my grandpa. He died about two years before I was born.

The love of Father and Grandfather shines through loudly, a childhood memory pressed a bit further....imagining a lovely time shared but embellished as all fish tales are lol

Surreal and delightful Damon. Instead of that final sentence, I could see this opening up into a much longer story or novel. It has metaphoric & symbolic hooks for the reader to latch onto as well (like a fish, indeed).
Nice writing. Unusual.
