Durbin
From my Oxford Dictionary (Third Edition - 1956)
exaun: Exempt (page 646)
And with, ‘exerce’, oops! Ca ce voit que je comprends le francais un peu. In other words, sometimes I get my French and English mords wixed up! ‘exerce’ is a French derivative of exercise. Me goofed! My apologies.
exercé, participe passé
Sens Participe
passé du verbe exercer.

English: Queen of Hearts French: Dame of Hearts!
ha, ha, ha!

Okay I give in, it's time to play the word game!
Here goes then (assuming no 3 letter words acceptable):
BEAR, BARE, BEAN, BEEN, BEAU, BEER, CRANE, NEAR, NE'ER (that one probably doesn't count!)
can't think of any more right now - maybe I'll do better next time!

Wow, you've really got it goin' on here, Durbs!
Has anybody said 'exuberance?' 'Be?' Oh dear, that's about the best I can do. Or here's one no-one will have got - 'Ee' - Yorkshire expression of surprise! If it's not in the dictionary, it should be. Ee, I'm stumped. By the way, all four sandwiches contained the same. They weren't those big long ones, just very small thin ones I make myself at home - 'four sandwiches' sounds really greedy doesn't it?!! No nuclear power! God night!

Carole--LCM receives credit for 24 words.Include 3-ltr words in case tough
ALL BLUE WORDS ARE FOUR-LETTER PLUS LONGER AND ARE AUTOMATICALLY ACCEPTED. Three letter words come in handy when the puzzle is so tough that we cannot make the 35 words target (for a decent vocab ...after all 26 letters spellion millionsof books).
Carole wrote, "Ok here goes - 37 words - and yes you have my permission to use it!
Bear, bare, bran, bane, beer, brane (physics), brace, been, bun, bur, Ben, bean, bra, bar, barn, Braun (Eva). Near, nub, narc (as in police informant).Ear, Arc, Ran, race, rube, rune, rub, Rex, Cane, cube, cure, Cuba, caner, crab, crane, cub, cur, Urea.
I doubt I was first, though. But it was fun! Hope this night has found you well and happy. And safe. Thanks for the brain exercise again. No electronic help although I looked up spellings (most of which weren't words...)
Love and hugs
Carole
