Hello folks - well, thanks for your comments!
To be fair, it wasn't easy to spot - the lyrics were buried in there quite deeply and in some cases rearranged. I won't spell them all out - but each line has at least one song in it - the first four lines are Sinatra, with one Who song popping in briefly; the next four lines are the Beatles, and the next four are Stevie Wonder. The final couplet contains bits from all three. Now I must dash off another one before I dash of for the rest of the day!

Antonionioni, I recognised most of it but oh dear, does this age me??
once I was driving in the car with a colleague the same age as me. I heard a beatle song and started singing along. She asked me what song was that. I said in a shocked tone...Then with a completely deadpan face she said"oh,i wouldnt know it. it was before my time." and she didnt even crack a smile. to this day I wonder if she was serious as she didnt have much of a sense of humour.

Anton" Let's see. "I just called EIGHT DAYS A WEEK from New York New York"
3 songs in this sentence! The Beatles White album is worth a mention as well, somewhere! Good cryptic stuff here....
