There is an awful lot that I don't understand about this war, about politics, and about the politics of war. It is good to question.

So true, Corbin, especially when one is looking to defend the indefensible
ie - an immoral, dangerous-to-the-cause-of-stopping-terrorism war, then shoddy and arrogant execution and planning of said war - Support the Troops never a priority of Rumsfeld, Bush, Cheney; too much evidence exists to prove their utter disregard for military realities and the horrors they have so coldly inflicted on hundreds of thousands souls.
what you posted appears to be a hopeful sign, but consider how many U.S. lives could have been saved, how many horrible injuries prevented if these vehicles had been delivered years earlier to our troops. And then beyond the surface of "hush, cos it's all Good Now!" there's this from ABC news, a more recent article:
Delayed Orders?
But the decision to order these vehicles raises major questions, including why are they only being rushed to production now? Commanders first started requesting MRAPs in February 2005.
Even with the rush, less than half of the MRAPs now under contract are expected to get to Iraq by the end of the year, and after that, they'll be produced at a rate of about 1,000 a month.
The surge of MRAPs into Iraq won't be fully under way until 2008, at about the same time many expect at least some of the troops in combat will be coming home.

Good Morning, Sunny, Thanks for reading
I don't get it either. U.S. troops are the ones in the thick of it, so to speak. The training of Iraqi soldiers has not, is not going well, but they will have state of the art equipment, thanks to the military industrial complex. You know, I opposed this immoral war before it began and my druthers is to send them home now, but I believe in taking care of them, during their tour's of duty on the battlefield and afterwards. Actual "Support the Troops" stuff.
