I'm playing catchup again and mostly getting up to speed without making comment.  But this one is a beaut.  Between cameras, recorders, DLs, and just about everyone's DNA soon to be on file, there is damned little privacy left now.  It'll probably get worse.  I envision new housing with multiple cameras mounted in every wall.  One won't even be able to blog naked in privacy anymore.  It'll be disconcerting to us, but commonplace for succeeding generations.

Hi Enny

Oh thanks Dream - I did have too much to drink last night, as it happens!

It is scary, Mary! But imagine if they had virtually invisible tiny cameras
 - then anyone could film anyone anytime anywhere! Yuk. But good from the filmer's point of view. That girl or boy you fancy but will never speak to or even see again - film them!

I'll  you some lyrics that are like a prequel or sequel, to this sonnet, in some ways - as far as the free market, as brilliant as I think Milton Friedman (R.I.P.) was, I don't support absolute - I can't spell the two-word term - the first word starts with L, the other with F (hey, it's French, and I'm American, 'nuff said! LOL!) - and I certainly don't embrace all of J.K. Galbraith's (R.I.P) democratic socialism - I'm in the middle, probably a litlle closer to free market economics. Timely (that also means good) sonnet!

Antonio-yo-yo - I'm behind in your lovely sonnets. My apologies. Been
busy!  It amazes me where those cameras are now --everywhere!  The ones in cell phones can be quite annoying, because you can be anywhere and not even know you're being photographed.  Scary!

Rumored - Yes - we will just have to see how it goes.
There is probably no need to be scared in reality.

OTA - Yes, the amount of truth is rapidly growing and spreading.
Who knows what will happen in the end, but it is exciting to wonder how this knowledge will transform and hopefully improve society.

Bhaskar - That's right. Nothing is secret with modern technology.
Like you, I don't know whether it's a good or bad thing. I would say that if you've got nothing to hide, then what's the problem? But it will soon be out of all control. We will just have to adjust to it.

Wiley - well we have cameras for speeders too.
They're not very popular, to put it mildly. Smetimes the cameras get firebombed!

Pelagus - well, that is very strange! But people are nosey!
People love to watch other people like a fly on the wall.

Secrets are nowadays no more a secret. Its a wonder that people can no more expose in private. With the advent of modern day tecnology, everything can become public. Good or bad, I can't decide. A good write from you though

poland
there is a city in poland where the videos in the street (the ones from the government) broadcast the move of all citizens on a channel on TV. This means you can sit in your armchair & see your mother shopping, your sister skipping school or your wife getting out of her lover's appartment... privacy... hmm, what a hell!

Mr Tonic, you might be onto world peace. If EVERYONE had one, we'd return to an equal society - did we ever have one? (That might be the flaw) Scuse I. I've had a few ales officer.
