I think in the Godfather films they pointed out that the gang was just another form of politics. The toughest one wins.

They say there is no such thing as organized crime, slam, that it is just
a word bandied about by politicians as a catch-all buzz word. Yet, if you argue that organized crime is any group of people organized for criminal activities, then the biggest organized crime organization is the government (you pick which level). Good post.
