Wow. That is a toughie.
Occasionally, life becomes a situation where the best choice may be truly horrendous, but it's better than all the others.
Actually, your idea sounds pretty good -- why not go somewhere you have the support network, and family, all that? We did that when my Dad had to go to Vietnam. Worked pretty well, actually.

Sometimes there just are no viable, sensible, answers at hand and one just has to ride the waves until a lifeboat comes along. This time in your life will not last forever. The days and weeks will pass faster than you think and along with time passing, opportunities and options will also pass in review for your choosing. Sometimes the busyness of life keeps us from even noticing that we are not the same person that we were when we first married. It is easy to see the changes in our mates and not even realize that they might be reacting to changes in ourselves.

That's such a tough situation...
maybe for your daughters sake a stable home would be good. You might see him less but it gives you and your daughter the chance to find an outside network, make some friends. I wish you well on yor decision
