Oh D-
I am so touched by this writing. I felt so robbed when my BIL left this world at age 48.  He had a lot of healing to do when he returned home. But he is happy now and watching out for those of us still here.

I recently read a Japanese saying that all things return to the sea. It is the most peaceful place, a place by the sea, where you just listen to the ebb and tide and the regularity of the giant living waters, breathing in and out.

Unraveling can give new patterns, renewed strength to an old thread when re-woven into something other than what it had been.

My deepest sympathies for you in your loss,

LCM

So sorry for your loss, Durbin
Your poem expresses the connection of life to death so wonderfully.  Even in your sorrow you convey pain yet also hope.

This is so touching. I read a poem yesterday .. it was about doubt and how it was like raveling lace.. I wish I could remeber it all.. anyway.. connections to others in our lives is so wonderful.. the bonds of humanity across oceans.. we can step into that same water they step in.. we can have them in our minds no matter how far apart our bodies are.. Im rambling.. but this is just such a lovely piece.. I needed to read this.. ~Peace, OTA

Why? Why indeed, Durbin, must we tie loose ends?
A little unraveling is good for the soul.  It make one have to use his brain.
