Talion...
Nice to see you! One of my five experiences was very similar to the one you describe, but my brother wasn't there...there were however 5 huge bouncers who suddenly had their hands full. Miffed is a great catogory!

I agree, hurt is a bi-product of anger...and the reverse can also be true. Thanks for reading.

Like you, I have varying degrees of this particular emotion and I categorize them roughly the same. I, however, have another. Miffed. This state usually occurs whenever I'm confronted by absolutely ridiculous persons and/or situations completely beyond my control. Bill O'Reilly and Paris Hilton can inspire it at will.
It's been years since I was really angry. Queen V has only seen me like that once and she didn't recognize it. (We were in a bar and the stereotypical "drunk guy" acted extremely inappropriately.) Fortunately my brother was present and knew exactly what was about to happen so he was able to calm me down. I'm incredibly patient. While a number of things can get under my skin, few things can make me truly angry. I simply don't allow it.

I wrote a post yesterday on my anger and taxguy left me an interesting comment. He said in his discussions on the subject that
hurt was a by product of anger as I had expressed in the post....so I understand where you are coming from I just never thought about putting anger into categories!!! Good post~

Alf, great post
You challenge me to define my anger... I will try.. in a post ..later.
But for now.. here is the key to my anger, just like you:
"if I'm angry the time for verbal communication is already gone,"
sometimes anger seems so intense on the inside of me, its best left there....
Im looking forward to these 'emotional posts" of yours. ~Peace, OTA
