Strangely, my family had a stronger parental unit once Mum & Dad were separated. Together they didn't work. Apart they did. Myself and my sister, although hurt at the time, saw the benefit of it afterwards and still do 28 years later. Divorce is sometimes the correct and best thing to do for the children, I believe.
Interesting piece. Haven't thought about this topic for a while.
