We can change things if investments are made in renewable sources of energy. It's unfortunate that people didn't listen to Jimmy Carter when he was president. I support increasing CAFE standards for cars. The fires are due to drought and not clearing the forests of excessive, overgrown brush and dead or dying trees. You can't just let them keep overgrowing. Of course, carelessness and disregard by some people like throwing a lighted cigarette on the ground causes a lot of these fires as well. We have to respect and honor the land, water and air. There is always hope.
