Beautiful... and distinctly Shakespearean, with its variations and musings on the idea of 'love'.

Re: Hi Notapoet - thanks for that - it's great of you to read them all.
I'll start saving up to purchase my copy if you'll autograph it for me.  I'm not into celebrity autographs -- other than the people I know.

Hi Notapoet - thanks for that - it's great of you to read them all.
It's encouraging that you say that. I probably will self-publish in the next year and try to market it by getting out and about a bit and meeting people.

I'm not a good judge of the mushy stuff.
But I liked this.  Just got up to date with your last eight posts.  I didn't leave comments on all of them, but I did enjoy your vacation pieces.  Liked the music oriented stuff too.  You're getting quite a body of work here.  Got a publisher lined up?  If not, you ought to seriously think about it.  Poetry isn't really my thing, but I think you've got something here.

Antonionioni
Sometimes one can be in love with love and just think they are in love with the person.

Hi Damon - thanks! I'm probably the reverse!!
It seems to suit me to use a restricting template.

I really enjoyed this piece.

I really enjoyed this piece.  I am no good at writing a certain number of lines such as sonnets require or tankas, but just write until I have said what I have to say however many or few lines that takes.

Hi Troosha - thanks very much!!
Yes, you have pretty much got it right. It's about the differences between our love and the object or supposed object of our love. It doesn't really comment on it, it just tries to evoke it.

Hi OTA - yes, I felt like doing a more focused one on love, after
yesterday's jokey love and musical sonnet!

Tony
This is lovely.  It's wonderful to simmer in the love itself that we have for someone rather than focus on the person (although the two are not mutually exclusive).  The feelings that another can invoke in us are sometimes their greatest gift.  Was I tracking along with you?  Oh well... even if I missed your point this is what you made me think about as I read this stunning sonnet.

What a great sonnet. You just got this one so right - beauty/truth together
