- Go to Pope Benedict XVI Spreads Conditional Love, Not Yeshua's Love
sannhet, I was floored when I read what the Pope had said..he set the R.C.
Church back a few centuries! I thought that kind of "thinking" was a thing of the past....I guess I'm too much idealist

Right on target. Again! Not to worry; I expect the pope to receive much more negative backlash from this little attack than he is prepared to receive!

Yes, this was a stupid enough move by the Pope
to make me wonder if senility is a problem. Why not build a rift between the RC and all other takes on Christianity including other catholics?

sannhet - As far as this pope goes - the bread hasn't quite risen
There are other aspects to his recent decree that are equally as inflamatory and downright nonsensical. The return to Latin in church services is hysterical. I'm old enough to remember what it was like. Sitting through an hour of meaningless gibberish, responding to chants and having no idea what I was saying, (just like everyone else my age at the time). The priest would say something to the effect of: Omnus Deis Requiem . . . the congregation would then wack themselves in the head with a wodden tablet and reply: Omnus Deis Glorium . . . okay, maybe the wooden tablet part is a revised memory but the effect is still the same.

It really saddens me when the body of Christians in this world puts up a wall between themselves that gives the appearance of complete dissention in our midst. Jesus is the champion of Love. He says over and over. "Love your neighbor."(neighbor being EVERYONE) "Be like me."(Jeus is LOVE) "Love yourselves. etc." The world sees us fighting among ourselves and laughs. I can only hope that the protestants will take this opportunity to love the 'uninformed Pope" unconditionally. ~Peace, OTA
