desertsong, every few years I do throw out my current t.v. set. give it to someone and
then I love the silence, the other worldly life of previously enjoyed things, like you said. My son just put in cable on my two t.v. sets and then brought another t.v. to the house. I don't know what he's thinking I need all this stuff for. He just likes cable when he visits, I suppose. I have begun watching HGTV, an artist's haven.

I have a tv
it's very dusty........I found this little trick though.  If you put the power strip (there are never enough plugs in the house anymore!) behind the tv, and "accidentally" forget to plug it in people eventually figure out your tv is "broken" and find much more entertaining things to do.  Haven't had the darned thing on in months, it's amazing how my kids adapted........the house is filled with music and the sounds of people laughing.

Agreed.

But then, who would I turn to tell me whether I'm fashionable or not?!
