Tony - I really like this. It's quite philosophical in many ways as a lot
of your work usually is anyway.  Society is fast and busy like bees, but then there are others just swaying to their own soft buzz, filling in the honey hours.  Well done.  I haven't had any peas for days!

Thanks very much, Proc - yes, we do - but it's probably for the best...
... it's just that nature didn't expect us to go and do things like invent the atomic bomb!

Hi Kabu - ys, exactly - it's in our genes to fight for survival and compete
... as it is for all animals.

Hello Rae - yes, I pretty much agree with you ...
We shouldn't take all the outlandish claims seriously but should stick to the known facts, e.g. what acts are passed under a particular presidency. I don't know what this independent news guy was trying to claim about Michael Moore but I really can't see how the government would want to encourage his activities.

great poem. its true that even if we are not competitive by nature
we get dragged into it sooner or later.

I haven't heard Michael Moore described in those terms before...:)
Could be it fits him, though. I think he started out with good and honorable intentions of digging out the truth about government policies and actions and then presenting them in his own creative, frequently humorous style; a way of capturing people's attention and causing them to think after they chuckled. I have all of his books and they are great; he cracks the veneer of slick politiking, the dishonesty/spin inherent in both parties. I have mixed reviews about his documentaries so far. Still seems interested in revealing the truth, but his methods and attitude are different; too Hollywood-ish or something. Then one is reminded he's earning big bucks for his efforts.

Hi Rae - I've commented on your site.
Like you, I'm unwilling to believe anything without questioning it. It could well be that a contract for camps has been set up, but that does't mean all protesters are going to end up in them! It does however give us more reson to be vigilant and we are indebted to the brave independent reporters. What 's the deal with Michael Moore? Why is he some sort of officially-approved rebel? I don't get that. Like 9/11 being an inside job, it doesn't ring true to me.

p.s. - Tony, Thank you for commenting on my poem - Karma Calling -
I left a response with a couple of excerpts and links. Just so you know, I'm not a conspiracy theorist; I do have an awareness of the dishonesty and manipulations of government and big business. Hard not to nowadays. I study and research things I am told, sent or have further questions about. I know the camps really do exist and in this country, corporate dominance/unlawfulness is climbing to previously unseen levels everywhere one looks. However, this is not to say I'm in complete agreement with the belief that people will be rounded up, arrested and displaced permanently if they resist becoming slaves. Hah, maybe I won't believe it until I'm there...:) But ya know, that scenario is similar to what goes on in China and other pittance-wage countries. And here, Japanese-American citizens were placed in camps, their property and possessions stolen. And of course what happened (and continues to happen) to the Native Americans was our beginning as a nation - forced and violent removal, reservations to this day not fully deeded over to the tribes, placement within perimeters, prejudice and extreme poverty. The poem came from bridging history to possibilities that may or may not come to pass. Thanks for listening and reading!

Hello Rae - thanks!
You are right, and if viewed from the individual standpoint, we are most of us selfish. But surely, as with other species, we behave in a way that is good for our species, and our competitiveness is, I believe, part of what is good for our species, driving us on to better things.

Very uniquely expressed - Great sonnet, as always, Tony!

Working in tandem as opposed to against the grain is more effective and moral, but too often, selfishness blinds.

I think we'd all like to leave a favourable imprint on the word and upon the lives of others.  Live well and with integrity and our "mark" will linger.....
