shelly, I used to work in a kind./daycare...one of those illegal ones
where you have about 20 4 and 5 year olds in one room with just one person to take care of them, until the health dept. came in for a scheduled visit and then they were split up to make it look like we had the legal 12 in each room. If someone took off that day, we didn't have a sub....oh, no....that would cost them money. They would split up that room and sometimes I'd have about 28 - 30 kids sometimes all day...no shit. talk about hitting the happy hour after work....hahaha...

Can't you throw them in the crawl space?
Just tell them it's their special "fort", and that you want them to protect it for, say, the next six months or so. If you cut a slot in the floor you can even pass food down to them, if you're so inclined.

Hey take a minute....
just for you....have a friend step in and sit you just take a walk....kids will do everything and anything to push your buttons....I know I've three and I've lived through what you are going through....you can too. Smile and laugh at the small stuff honey, mind the big things is all I can say.
