Yep... it is an "open source" software... they also have a spreadsheet program and a "power point" type program. :-)

BTW I read your most recent post... sorry to hear about your family. My best friend was recently in a similar situation. The crazy things people say and do when it comes to a death in the family never cease to amaze me.

If you want a word processor on the Mac you could download open office at www.openoffice.org. it is compatible with Macs and once it comes time to transfer stuff over it is interchangeable with MS Word..... though... I see the appeals of using the laptop!!

There are priorities in life, yes?  Your laptop is one of them.  No need whatsover to apologize for this kind of need.  Yes, it's a machine, but it's much more than that.  It's a way to key in our souls...........  To me, it's that simple.
