- Go to Writing My Way to a Wedding
My daddy, who died, was the one who was supposed to pay for my
wedding. My future mother-in-law let me have the wedding in her dining room. I had the local Randalls cater it. Only a few members of his family and friends came to the wedding. Since it was in his distant home town, I had no one but my own husband, his family and friends to back me up. Oh yes. And the pastor. I wore my prettiest old flowery dress that I had only worn once or twice previously. I thought it was a good wedding. I was meeting several family and friends of my husband for the first time on that day.

How about; have a very quiet wedding. You can save the money for other expenses like setting up a new household etc.
