Nice to see you :) I've been absent a while.. did you get the haircut? I can't say I've quite nodded off at the hairdresser's, but I know the feeling. Very relaxing. Can't answer for the vanishing cuticles, however.. does Carol offer a manicurist too?

Nice to see you :) yes, time to go again soon, and thanks for the compliment. As for the adapting, well, I'm still learning. I have good days too.

Taps

Thank you:) I agree it would be difficult to manage them in that kind of work, and I don't think it's too late to start, you could always start with a simple manicure and colour. If you did have the tips put on they can be taken off in a couple of weeks. Otherwise it's just a regular infill every two to three weeks. Go on, spoil yourself...!

You have put me in the mood for a haircut, mneme.  My hairdresser, Carol, pampers me to within an inch of my life.  I have no problems understanding her French/English as I nod off as soon as she touches my head.  As for nails, I can't even find a cuticle.

Mneme, there is nothing better in life than a little pampering...
even if I don't do it for myself, I strongly encourage others to spoil themselves. I am glad you are making the most of simple pleasures in life, or at someone's elses expense! even better ha ha...you do write beautifully and with great sensitivity. Those poor girls in a foreign land, just like many of us, we adapt - more or less.

I enjoyed this immensely.  I have never had my nails done like that though I always note the artistic nails of other ladies who do.  It seemed ludicrous to do it as a nurse when one is continuously washing hands and donning latex gloves and then when I retired, it seemed ludicrous to begin with it so late in life.   What happens if you start with it and then decide you don't want to do it anymore?
