Atrophy
I find that choosing to believe that God created the heavens and the earth, and then created man from the dust of the earth, the earth that he created from nothing, frees me up to quit focusing on from where did we come.  It enables me to spend time in wonder, appreciation, enjoyment, gratitude for it all.   I know that there are some who just have to know.  I like being able to accept it on faith.  Isn't it strange how people are so different from each other.

Excellent attempt to answer a near-unanswerable, Atrophy. I leave that
kind of thinking to people like Dawkins and Hitchens and Darwin and Spencer and, well, people other than myself.  I do not believe that we are some entity's ant farm (where he created the ants), although I do hold on to the possibility that that entity could exist, just not quite in the form most people believe.  For me, Occam's Razor is too simple a basis to rest the beginning of life upon...

Atrophy

I am reminded of a quote. The question of how did we begin could be answered but we have this nasty little problem...

"The only thing that interferes with with my learning is my education" Albert Einstein

Peace good man!

Yeah, well, as far as I see it - and we might see it the same - the only reason the question of the creation - of something being born from nothing - boggles our mind is becuase we are completly oblivious to part of the equation. We also likely have a premise or two when it comes to the way we approach the universe that is flat wrong. Like our concepts of time for example. Or existance maybe. Everything in our natural world can be broken down to a simple explanation, and if we cannot find that simple explanation when it comes to our universe, then there is simply something we are not seeing.

Personally, I think a creator is highly probable. And an imperfect creator even more probable.

With enough time.

Atrophy
A tough subject to write about.  One that I'd not have even one clue as to where to start.  I certainly applaud your effort.
