That's true too; it was wonderful to just pick up with a childhood friend during my last visit. Time for another one I hope :)

Thanks for visiting; all my childhood friends are overseas so it's harder to keep in touch but there are one or two I still talk to.

Hi Blogit friends
I'll be back tomorrow to comment I hope, I have so little energy today - storms overnight in Sydney and not much sleep..  this piece started out as a cameo of my little boy's early schooldays, and morphed into the transience of acquaintences.  Sometimes you never know what's going to come out in the writing. Goodnight all, and have a great weekend.

it's true mneme how sad it is that we lose touch with friends for many
many reasons; however I think the true mark of friendship is when after years we just pick up where we left off and just continue from there as if those years hadn't separated us!

Yes… it’s sometimes sad the neighbours or friends come and go. I have a couple of girlfriends that I have known for 20+ years. We still laugh together and share each other’s joys and sorrows and I often think it’s remarkable. My daughter has stayed in touch with her girlfriend that she met when she was 2 – they were inseparable and I think it’s wonderful that now in their early 20’s their friendship still survives the test of time.
