Hi Sannhet - wise words, and well-explained.
It is hard to see at first, isn't it, but then becomes apparent eventually.

Forgiveness IS taking back control. Otherwise, as the expression goes, we continue to drink the poison expecting the other person to die.

SAME THING IN QURAN SANHET,FORGIVENESS IS A VERY STRONG VIRTUE WHICH CAN LEAD TO LOVE BETWEEN NATIONS BUT OF COURSE IT DEPENDS ON THE SITUATION, AND THE MEANING OF GIVING THE OTHER CHEEK DOES NOT MEAN TO BE ALWAYS NEGATIVE OR UN ABLE TO DEFEND YOUR RIGHTS ,IN POLITICS I DO NOT THINK THAT FORGIVENESS CAN WORK ,IT NEEDS AT LEAST TO SHOW THE OTHERS WHO ALWAYS USE THE GOOD AND THE POSITIVE MEANING OF FORGIVENESS IN OPPOSITE WAY THAT YOU ARE STRONG BUT YOU CHOOSE TO FORGIVE ,AND FORGIVENESS DOES NOT MEAN TO BE SILENT ,YOU HAVE TO SHOW AND TO ASK FOR YOUR RIGHTS BUT IN ACONSTRUCTIVE WAY AS IF YOU WILL NOT DO THEN NO ONE WILL EVER DO FOR YOU ,THANKS SAN HET

A person can Choose to be a victim
Just like a person can choose to forgive. Victims usually are self-proclaimed.

This is a very good post. You are also confirming that Jesus cannot love us without our love. Why do I say that? You said the act of forgiveness is all love. The way Christians were taught to pray is different than ever before. In there He says we are asking the Father to: Forgive me my trdespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me. We cut off God's ability (because his word is his ability) to forgive us if we still have unforgiveness in our hearts.
