I have never read anything about death that moved me like this that you have shared. Peace to you and Grandmother. The Grandmother who took part in raising a very special man.

Some of it I have shared in the past. As it turned out, I was one of the nurses for my mother, my father and my sister at a long-term-care facility. (not all at the same time). I would work a full shift and then stay another one just for them before turning the watch over to a sibling. My Sis suffered terribly with metasticized malignant melanoma. She was younger than I and it was so hard to let her go.

Re: TAPS
Thank you, TAPS.
I'm humbled by your comment because I know you have experienced so many more painful episodes during the span of your career. And if you ever happen to share them with us here, I welcome the opportunity to read them.

I'm glad that you posted this here. I read it on your other blog and I just read it again. It is written so well that I can feel your pain, your desire to help, your helplessness, your grief, your memories of wonderful times.
