A Norseman

Interesting post.  Great that you can recognize that you're changing.  For me, I don't tend to 'see' it, until it's over and I'm looking back.  I don't know why that is.  Nice to 'meet' you.

Hey, good to see you back Alf! I am pushing 40 pretty hard now, and I am consciously making some changes, that will inevitably affect me "inside." It scares the hell out of me!!!

Alfie
By the time you are 114 you will have changed so much, both inside and out, that you will not have a clue that it is you.

I agree, change on the outside is invigorating, but change on the inside is like shedding an old skin and trying to get used to a new one. I think the problem with internal change is that it is not necessarily for the best, I don't like how i feel, think and react now, i think i was a better person 10 years ago, so what does that tell you? Those changes were inevitable, but i wish i had fought them harder, I might have been able to retain more of my older self.

All in all, an excellent post

Chrylann...

That's basically the same conclusion I came to...though knowing all that doesn't make internal change any easier, it does help one intellectualize it though.

I plan on living until I'm 114...so I have much yet to experience, many changes to live through I suppose.

Regarding your subscription...I would encourage you to not cancel it.  I think you have become an asset here.  Blogit is a big place...it's global!  I think you should give that some more thought.

I am still stopping in to read......

occasionally.  My subscription ends the 13th. I have my own theory regarding your post here. I believe anatomically, we were constructed to live far longer than the current projection of eighty years. (My passions of study) In all actuallity, I believe our creator endowed us miraculous recovery, if not for toxins, etc., to physically live infinately. Even given our current stressors, if we were to supply ourselves physically to our utmost ability, our life span could be 120+ years. We are the only species constructed by our creator to continually regenerate ourselves.

This supposition theory of an expanded forty years of life would validify the misconceived world views regarding psychological age fundamental issues such as; children being grown at twenty, reaching middle age at forty, retirement age at sixty-five and inevidable death at eighty. The world is forever pushing us toward death.  What if the world is wrong?

Considering a life span more feesibly understood by the inner-man as opposed to the worlds misconceptions; children are having and raising children (?)  Forty-fifty year olds are reaching the age of wisdom & understanding (?), sixty-seventy year olds truly begin to seek the truth of the inner-man and apply the wisdom gained (?), eighty-one hundred year olds are enjoying the twenty years of retirement they've built to enjoy and can enjoy until they physically expire (?).  There are many records of even longer life spans throughout history.

Considering again this hypothesis, at our age, we would be just begining to realize the wisdom and understandings from our youth.  WE would also begin to understand that our passed experiences were the products of our youth, laking in wisdom, giving life a try and stumbling about. WE would begin gathering the knowledge and wisdom of the experiences of our youth, not to construct walls with, but to utilize those experience as the concrete foundation of which to begin building from.

You are not the product of your past forty-four years but the potentiality of your next eighty years. Change is evolution, evolution is striving toward your highest potential. You're just a youngster getting started as am I....

Change isn't painful when it is from your own heart's desires.  I would never let anyone tell me I should or should not be doing anything, feeling a particular way or otherwise.  We move along our journey at our own pace and our own comfortable speed.

There has been so many, many wonderful things, theories as these and ideas I've wanted to share with you.  I've been holding them in for so long just waiting for you to find the time.  We are two of a kind you & I, in so many ways. (This is not a theory).

Maybe someday when we've both grown up huh? Maybe never.  All I know is when two minds and hearts are moving in the same direction, they eventually collide.

In the meantime (that's why it's called the 'mean' time). It can beat up a heart pretty bad....but like I said, given all it needs, this creature is capable of miraculous regeneration.  That's what I'm doing now, regenerating.

Alf

Change

the air is thick

storm clouds brewing

warning flashes of thunder

light your path

stand fast in the storm

receive that energy

make it your own

and come out stronger

after the storm..

Peace
