Thanks Drohan, I appreciate your encouragement very much

It's not just these sonnets I'm on about - it's other stuff I've done or may do. These sonnets will probably have to be self-published or not at all - they're too weird and unlikely for people to take a commercial gamble on, I expect!

Hi Bhaskar - no, the preparation in the kitchen is really the hard work
aspect not of the initial creation, which is work but has a fun element too, is a kind of play, like socialising or listening to music, but the real hard work, which is the marketing. That's why I refer to it as a 'foul' mix, and later on use the word 'distasteful' because this brought the effort to get published back to the idea of slaving away in the kitchen while others are relaxing somewhere and enjoying themselves. The analogy doesn't work as well for those who love cooking, but hopefully the structure of the poem provides the clues, albeit hard to find. I'm saying, really, I wish I had an agent to do all the approaching of publishers on my behalf, LoL!

Thanks Teddy - I wrote it to myself, if truth be told, not as a 'lesson'
or sermon - I've done this a few times now. just trying to gee myself up a bit. It doesn't really work, to be honest!

Hello Tony
Just as in the kitchen food that is prepared, we want it to be delicious, so also does the publishers desire the best of a writer, prepared in the kitchen of his writing table, and naturally in this he cannot be faulted. Is that what it means, Tony? Do not know whether my interpretation is correct.

Hi Chris - you're right - the opening line is just a general remark, really
- then i got into the food theme, which still wa spretty general, then the publishing bit I thought would be relevant to most of the unpublished readers here or even those who have been published, because they must have had to do a fair bit of work to get published, but you're right it could be about anything! Thanks for reading! It's still sunny...

The poem is great Tony! It does not cover ONLY publishers-does it?
It's also for whatever else we are searching for in life! Chris.
