In cases that are clearly the act of a psycho- or sociopath, someone
who recklessly, for whatever reason, or heinously commits an act of murder, and this is premeditated murder, I have absolutely no qualms about the death penalty.  There are cases out there, though, upon review, that leave plenty of room for doubt -- in the commission of the act or the evidence or prosecution is somehow askew.  We shouldn't be too quick to put people to death, but we shouldn't leave mass murderers on death row for 20 years appealing and wasting millions of dollars worth of our tax dollars either.  Their victims can't appeal...

I sympathize with your take on this:
Cases like this really put my opposition to the death penalty to the test.

I don't know the details, Mademoiselle. This is breaking news. Parker
went before the judge yesterday.  Hopefully, the government will see this as a case of extenuating circumstances and allow both the parents to come home for good.

That's so horrible.

Is she going to have to return to Iraq (eventually)?

How long is her leave for?

And what about the ex-husband?
