I've never seen this technique used until I moved up here. It's lovely, for sure.

The entertwined trees remind me of an old folk song
maybe "cherry pink and apple blossom white" about two lovers who were buried side by side and the trees grew ... beautiful photo.

Yes. Jamaican dogwood bark. I have some powder that I use for tension headaches. I've tried the native species here, and it seems to be about the same.
Good to hear from you. Glad you liked the pic. I thought it was neat.

great to see you back !!!
speaking as an herbalist it is the jamaican dogwood that is most often used in medicine. tho i'm unsure it's latin name - might have to look it up.
Spectacular pic. not being familiar with dogwood trees i at first thought it may be conjoined almond/cherry tree. almond and cherry are from the same genus - so praps tis possible with them too.

Yes. I've seen others that are still quite young and haven't intertwined yet. These were aged.

I didn't either until last year. Lots of interesting stuff to learn all around us, I discovered.

It is so interesting how thousands of plants have medicinal properties and if we but had the knowledge and the knack, we could find our remedies in the hedgerows.

How cool is that?!?! Someone obviously planted the trees that close together (as apposed to it being a freak of nature) but what a wonderful result.
