Nothing. That why the do-nothing Republican-led Congress has phased
so well into Democrat-led do-nothing Congress, joab.  It's rather disgusting, reallly...

Apparently recall isn't available on all levels, RaeS. The California law
that got Arnie elected was a recent amendment to California's legal system when it was used to oust Davis.  Our problem on the national level is that we've got a president who thing's he's a king, a vice-president and ex-chief of staff who think it's an oligarchy, and a bunch of elected officials who aren't doing their jobs or working for thier constituents in the positions they've been given by popular mandate.  One of those jobs is to check the power of the presidency.  Another is to ensure that the written laws passed are constitutional to begin with (this is done with adept legal counsel and, ultimately, oversight by the Supreme Court).  Right now, every politician in Washington (except Bush) is fighting for a position on the fence of the bigger issues, hoping they will remain just likable enough to be reelected.  The problem is, they're getting nothing accomplished that the voters want accomplished.  For over half of those bastards, referendum and recall should be the course of action for their constituents.  For Bush and his appointees, impeachment proceedings and investigative probes.  What have we got?  Another do-nothing government.

Thanks for jogging my memory, Saul..half asleep..:)
Needs to be done in quite a few positions..so much apathy still exists though; hard to believe enough energy and determination are available to make it happen.

No research necessary, RaeS. We do have that privilege. It's called
recall.  There are efforts ongoing constantly to have these guys recalled.  One here, one there.  In fact, it's how Arnold Swarzenegger became governor of California.  Gray Davis was recalled and a new election was ordered.  Arnie won.

Maddening and outrageous non-action..

Saul, doesn't the constitution say we the people have the right to replace government when they are not following the majority's wishes? Apart from the election cycle? Needs to be researched, methinks..said half in jest..

Good post! and lol at the comments..

Yes. On some porn sites, you can vote for people in contests, then pay
them to do what you want.  It's very capitalistic/authoritarian...

Lovely.
Is there a way to vote for people that will actually do what they say?
