Wouldn't they have made it easier if they'd just apply the possessive, FG?
They invented the language, you'd think they'd employ it better...

My apologies.  Sheesh!  And I didn't explain it quite right.  If Diana were alive and William or Harry became King, Diana would've been called, "King Mother"...  There's only a, "Queen Mother", when there's a Queen.  There, now I've got it right.  lol

Therein lies my confusion. I had thought I'd heard it since the Queen's
mother had died.  And I did -- while Diana was alive.  Now, the term is defunct.  Got it.  "Learn something new every day, or die trying" is my motto, FG.

No apology necessary.  Many just don't understand what the term means.  It simply refers to the mother of the Queen, which reigning in England now is Elizabeth.    There won't be a Queen Mother for a long time because Diana is dead.  When William or Harry become King, the title will remain defunct.

Forgive my ignorance, FG. I'll let it stand as monument to my
forgetfulness and ignorance.  For some reason, I thought when the Queen Mother died, the honorific passed down to the reigning queen.  My apologies to the Queen.

I agree with you and it could happen.

Minor faux pas here.  Queen Elizabeth is not the Queen Mother, her mother is dead.  As for Blair.....well, this may seem trifle, but his hair looks great!  What I mean by that is, I watch your Presidents take office and when they're done, their hair is grey.  If I may dare, I liked Tony Blair and how he managed to keep his cool.
