I don't hold out much hope that these men are still alive, Writer, although
the military did say today that they had information that two (maybe all three) were still alive. But who knows?

In the end, nobody wins, Glennb. I agree that this is a war we shouldn't
have initiated, but I still don't want to see any more of our troops killed. If I could make it so, I'd have it so no more Iraqis would die as well. But we all know that that is never going to happen...

I keep all victims of this madness in my Prayers?
WriterofLight. And hope is the only thing separating us from total chaos. By the way ole W is still at it as well. Trying to prove the "Brown Race" cannot govern themselves. And I hope he wins. Then what?

Keep the three in your prayers
And just imagine the terrorists holding them giving them the considerations and accomodations for their faith that we give captured Islamic extremists.
(By the way - Nice to see gentle, sweet Glenn B still at it!

Taps,
You missed the point of my note to the author. You have not heard one Iraqi utter or espouse hatred towards anyone, not even Americans. So lose the that justification for the madness. If you opened your eyes you would recognize that these men (soldiers) invaded a sovereign nation against their and my will. Bush keeps calling this a war! Then in war you have to accept the brutality of all warring factions. In spite of what your leader keeps telling you, there is no such thing as a humane war. On either side! The insanity will eventually touch us all!

Saul_Relative,
And you think we are much better? What do you think a 500lb bomb does to human flesh?Napalm, white phophorous, depleted uranium? America has the freedom and resources to develop all means of weapon and we are the civilized one? Have you forgotten the rape of the Iraqi girl? I have a different view!

I'm afraid, TAPS, you are right. These men are in the hands of religious
zealots who brutally murder infidels and apostates, perceived enemies of Allah, then show the videotape to the world. They're slightly more advanced than animals...

I've never blocked anyone, Glennb. It's censorship; I detest censorship.
I might not like a person, their opinion, their attitude, or whatever, but they always have the right to say whatever they want. Oh, and I checked with Mom and Dad; David Brooks isn't even a long-lost half-brother...

Saul_Relative,
I can hardly bear to think of those missing men. Its hard to have faith that they are being well treated. I smile at the confession of "endearment of hate" proferred by Glennb to youward. I can understand that on Blogit. But, where these missing men are concerned, I'm afraid that the hatred has no connotation of endearment whatsoever.

Saul_Relative,
You are one of the few places I am not blocked! Hate in the context here is more of endearment than any desire to wish you harm or ill-treatment. I do not want to imply the opposite. You respond to rebuke. Try getting a response from that David Brooks!

There have been very few, if any, people captured by the so-called
"terrorist" groups that have been released, Rocky. And, if I'm not mistaken, the only ones who have have been journalists -- and only a few of them. So, I'd say those three soldiers' situation is dire...

Hi Saul...this entire war is just a continual tragedy.
I sincerely doubt they will be found alive but you're right we can always hope.
And now I don't mean to stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but I couldn't help but see your comment GlennB. The word "hate" is not in MY vocabulary. Is that the way for a Southern Baptist to talk? Seems to me you're bearing a bad witness to others! Just an observation!

I worked with David Brooks years ago. Oh, wait. That was a different
David Brooks. You're talking about the N.Y.Times Op-Ed columnist. Boy, am I flattered. Really. To be hated more than David Brooks has to be the pinnacle of my writing career to date. Please, Glennb, sound it to the world.
Some advice: Don't be a hater. It makes you look petulant and puerile. Comments like that are generally followed by an anguished cry, a stomping of the foot, and a quick exit. And where's the intelligent discouse in that?
