Re:

I'm not leaving town permanently. Well, not yet anyway. I'm going home to Northern Ireland from university in England for the summer, which will end up being about 10 or 11 weeks. In the autumn, it will be the start of the final year of my degree, so I'll be going home permanently next summer. That is, if there isn't anything in England to keep me. Michael always knew that if we were still together by the time my degree was done, I'd be staying with him and finding work near him. And now he knows that as he has no claim on my anymore, I'll be going home. I would like to stay near him, but as I detest this place, I'd rather be without him in a place I love, rather than be without him in a place I hate.

As for Chris and North Carolina, he goes where his lady is. The bonus is the hiking lands - he loves to hike. So maybe he would go there anyway, even without a lady!

I think that's precisely the reason, actually.

Why are you leaving, btw?

Just simply sick of him?

P.S. Why would anyone voluntarily move to North Carolina? No offense to any North Carolinians out there.

When Gary told me he was having trouble with his wife, I had to laugh.
Not because of what he said, but because of a joke I thought of.
I told him the joke, but he didn't laugh very much.
Some friend he is!
