I haven't had the time or the inclination to make time to read TIME in
years. For me, the time had come to completely disregard reading TIME as a worthwhile pastime since I now view this publication that once upon a time was not yet the worthless waste of paper it has become over time!

Re: Ex-squeeze me? Did I read that correctly?

Yep, Masky, and then, as Enigmatic points out, they had good, cuddly old Papa Stalin as well! I guess what's good for one mass murderer is good for another...

Actually, when they put Hitler on, he had't yet started, whereas Stalin already had a few million under his belt, as it were...

"Man" of the year.  I'd like to have a copy of that particular publication...to use to start my burn pile with in the back yard!

You get to be 'Man of the Year' for controlling a bit of sand? I'm gonna stake out a place down here at the beach...

thanks for all that interesting info! BTW, what the hell are you doing up so late, or early, as the case may be?

Time magazine started in 1923 - interesting history - it went from having very conservative owners/publishers - Henry Luce, and then, when he died, to his wife, Claire Booth Luce - when she died or retired, that's (in my opinion) when they started their leftward journey.

Sorry, it was for 1939 - then the evil bastard recieved it again, in 1942! In 1939 he got it for being the bad guy who made a pact with Hitler - in 1942, he got it for being our "good guy", ally! Nazis, Commies, and Islamist terrorists - you just have to hate them all!

Then Stalin (an even bigger mass murderer) won the honors in 1940!

Hitler built up the German economy (mostly) by buiding up his war machine - then he pretty much had to start WWII, becuase expert economists who have studied this topic, say that, if Hitler allowed more peactime for Germany, their war-machine-inflated, (National) Socialist economy would have collapsed!

That's a strange decision! I mean, whether you like him or not, as the president of the only super-power left, his importance ought to be obvious to anyone...

We know how he died. He shot himself in his bunker in Berlin in '45. Some of his men burned his body just before the Russians stormed the place. Nobody knows what happened to his ashes, either the Russians still have them, or they disposed of them long ago.

It is fairly safe to say they have not learned much. They left Bush out of the 100 important people this year. Them and The New York Times are good for the birdcage floor.

thanks for doing my proof-reading for me, LOL. It's true that he did a lot for the German economy, but his political ideas were no secret! Of course, I don't remember either, and hindsight is always 20-20...

(you might want to correct the typo at the end, 'Adol'. looks too close to idol.  ick)  Actually, wasn't he really popular then at having done wonders for Germany's economy?  Or was he already going nuts?  I don't remember, I wasn't born then.
