Just another insight....

This post spoke of eating garlic (someone asking you to 'eat garlic' for them), but it also spoke of the health benefits of garlic. I am very aware of the health benefits of garlic.  I am studying for my CN and advise others to the benefits of garlic frequently; blood cleansing, antiparasitic, colon cleansing, liver cleansing, lowering cholesterol, etc.

The light bulb finally came on.  Someone recently asked me to do for them, a very distatefull task.  I procrastinated because it was large, what I perceived as overwhelming and the more I procrastinated, the angry I became...not just at the other person for asking such a gregarious task of me but angry at myself that I had accepted such a challenge.  The moral of the story is; maybe there IS something inside of us that says yes because we DO need that particular challenge.  I did hold to my promise and with a lot of focus, prayer for guidance and forced motivation, accomplish the task above and beyond my own expectations.  I have gained confidence and received a good healthy pat on my own back from me, which is a stage of spiritual growth I am currently experiencing. Thank you for this insight.

Munih
Very interesting.  I've never heard that one before but I can certainly understand it.  The most healthful benefits from garlic come from eating the cloves raw, but it sure is a bugger to eat it that way.

Thank you for clarifying this
I guess I was thinking more along the lines of an unpleasant task someone asks you to do for them because they are unwilling to. Thank you.

Re: I find this curious & intriguing
Eating garlic leaves a smell that some find unpleasant, the proverb is talking about a situation where someone would want you to do  or say something that they themselves would not do or say because of the unpleasantness of saying or doing it.For example you know someone that does something you do not like, rather than tell them about it yourself you ask a friend to do it for you.

Re: What is unpleasant about eating garlic?
There is nothing unpleasant about eating garlic,I love it myself its just that people are turned off by the smell of it.

What is unpleasant about eating garlic?
I love raw garlic myself.  One of the few vegetables I willingly eat.
