Naut
Well written friend.  I Felt like I was trailing along side you as you swept accross the countryside.  I hope you'll have many more rides like this one.

Be free,

Re: Naut, I can't think of any post of yours I haven't throughly enjoyed
muser, thank you very much! It was a good experience for me, and, as time permits, I hope I can get back into a regular riding 'groove'. I'll think about the article idea...

Naut, I can't think of any post of yours I haven't throughly enjoyed
reading, but this one is par excellence! This post is beautifully written as usual; as far as I can tell your writing is technically perfect all the time as well as descriptive and interesting....BUT this post has heart, passion, joie de vie! I can "see" your surroundings, and "feel" your joy at being back in the saddle again. I don't think you'll ever take your bike rides for granted again, if indeed you ever did. I am awfully sorry to hear that your  hand  has not sufficiently healed enough so that you can sail your boat this summer, but you know how to sail in your mind and that will sustain you. If you haven't already, why don't you submit this piece to a cycling magazine?!

Thanks! Yes, it was great! Sometimes it's wonderful to have one's expectations not fulfilled...And I had a very enjoyable shower afterwards as well...

Naut...

It seems to me that upon returning to the bike you prepared yourself for what you expected to be the worst experience/reaction imaginable.  How much more wonderful it must've felt that the exact opposite occurred!

I celebrate in your triumph...even though you tried to "rain on my shower" blog!  XO

Thanks, old boy! Hey, in spite of all our injuries, with your good left leg and my good right, we can still go far...

Whacky, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Actually, I was a little tired myself in the end, and I did get a little worried about Bo...

Nautikos

I'm very proud of you and very happy, how wonderful. Bon courage mon homme!!!See, I really am a soul mate because I crippled my right leg as a boy and it took me over 2 years to make it work again. They never thought I'd even get into the military. Actually the navy turned me down and said I'd never be able to hang onto the deck of a ship when they saw the foot on that leg. So I went a few blocks in Montréal and joined the R.C.A.F. And they sent me overseas in '55 by ship. lol

God Bless you, yeah, yeah I know, I know but God bless you for me then. lol

Thanks, TAPS. I thought people might find it a bit boring, actually, but in this case 'boring' was 'exciting' to me...

that doesn't surprise me! The Canada geese hanging out here year-round in our parks feed on so much poisonous junk, they're definitely not safe to eat!

Well, apparently  there were a lot of sick people in NYC.  So NY sent it all back and that was the end of that.  Have no idea what they taste like and i don't want to!  Bacon and eggs?  Yum!  I'm getting hungry.............

Good morning, Foliage
Thanks! So they cook the Canada geese in Chicago? I didn't think they were edible, lol! What did I have for lunch? I made myself a late breakies...bacon and eggs! I deserved it!

Naut - Good Morning!
A lovely piece of writing!  I was right there with you.  So you sail?  Sailing and biking, sounds like you enjoy the wind in your face..........  Speaking of wind, when I lived in Chicago there were so many CDN geese, the city rounded 'em up, cooked 'em, canned 'em and sent them off to NYC's homeless shelters.  Makes you wonder why they didn't feed their own this lunch?  Speaking of which, what did you have that day?

I thinks it's working now, Mademoiselle. And the people there generally have one head per person, but I know a few guys whose noses have a suspicious red glow...

Are you now making plans for heading to France?????

The link doesn't seem to be working.

Btw, do all the children of Pickering have, like, two heads or something? (Due to living so close to the nuclear power plant?)

One thing vampire children have to be taught early on is,
don't run with a wooden stake
