Whacky & Bo-

That was one sailor man.  He was one to go on 3 week solo sailing trips, sometimes he'd take some of his children. He in a northern Chicago wharf called Willamette.  They owned a home in Kenilworth. It just so happened to be his other two kids time to be be here to visit.  He death took them all be surprise. I imagine he is not-as-contentiously skippering away. He sailed the Great Lakes of this world, in heaven; whoa they must be huge.

MAdemoiselle-
I agree with you. Even when expected, it's still a shock! Thanks for reading and leaving one of your wonderful verses!

What a beautiful mental picture is your last paragraph.  It surely give comfort to those who are loved ones.

My condolences on your friend's loss (as well as your own earlier ones as well).

I remember how much of a shock it was when my own father died (suddenly). And I always wondered if knowing in advance would have made it any easier.

Though I doubt it.

Life is eternal;
And love is immortal;
And death is only a horizon;
And a horizon is nothing
Save the limit of our sight.
