You love your friend more when you express to him or her your conclusion that he or she is not performing as you expected. You love him or her less if you obfuscate and prevaricate. America is a great country but we cannot survive unless we, at least, listen to the rest of the world, especially the developed world. Would you not listen to your sister because she doesn't share your approach? By the basic laws of economics, China and India are gaining on us. China, particularly, is already exploiting our unpopularity around the world. Take note, they haven't fired a shot.We must stem that tide or perish. Rememember Julius Caesar's Mark Anthony. He did not like the conditions prescribed by Brutus et al but he understood that to prevail he had to accommodate. He accommodated. He prevailed.

It concerns me a lot that so many Americans are like teen agers so concerned if the rest of the world likes us. If you are doing what is right and no body likes you it is they who should change. I am still a proud American. Are you? Do you still root for your team when they are losing? I do. If you are a proud American at heart you will be with her in her high and low times. For people to hate their country because they do not like their president is insanity..
