I think every one should have a privacy gated mansion.  Just think of all the parties and dinners we could hold.

Exactly, Richinstore - in these times of falling wages and soaring costs

of basics, this tax leap could be the straw breaking for many families. The housing market is already beginning to sink, due to interest rates climbing, thanks to hazy, often outright shady mortgages that have little to none oversight. Working people simply can't keep up and are losing their homes. And they are sitting empty in gathering numbers. Yes, rental prices are rising too and will continue to follow suit. Therein the squeeze of more bodies into less space for the purpose of spreading living expenses even thinner. We love our space and personal zones in this country and our privacy; guess some would say we're spoiled, but the times are a changin'.

Thanks for reading.

Raes
raising the tax will only put the burden on the houseowner and this will have a repercussion on rentals and other expenses.

Uncluttered surroundings clear the mind and soul for the truest treasures

A few years ago, I bought a lot of things.  Last summer I sold them all in a weekend yard sale.  Simplicity for this lady now.  --Mary

Now that was a sad post luv, truthful but sad. Canada is coming to much the same state with our low paying Wal-Marts, Cdn. Tire stores etc. all on mimimum wages. And counties now raising taxes because the Provincial governments are downloading responsibilities for so many things like my 2 hydro poles to the people. Makes me wonder why we even bother voting to elect anybody.

No comprehensive medical care here; millions of Americans uninsured

and not qualifying for any kind of aid if they are working. If you do carry insurance, the rates are skyrocketing, whether individual based or paid through a company offering and still don't cover many expenses, which of course are also trekking upward. We have the highest costs for prescription medications also. Many families must decide, paycheck to paycheck: pay the rising mortgage note (rising because of tax and interest increases) or continue to carry healthcare insurance, pay this doctor bill, that hospital bill, buy food, gasoline or medicines..No social programs, safety nets for the working class, Linter. Nearly everything is "for profit" - Wall Street is jubilant.

Thank you for reading.

RaeS,this is certainly an interesting and though-provoking post
but what stood out in neon lights is that our RaeS has a blogger she wants to 'room' with?  Yummy, I love even the slightest sniff of possible romance.....

Both parties are willing to sell us all out for votes. I am 71 years old and I have seen a lot of politicians, have belonged to both parties. I have never seen a more greedy, self centered group in Washington than there is now; both sides. It has been going on for years it just keeps growing toward there being no middle class. It is a great country and we are sending billions of money to people all over the world who hate us and keeping it from the people who built this country. It is sad.

People will go deep into financial slavery (debt)
trying to cling to the American Dream.
