I love the grand architecture of Paris. We spent some time there, and the people of France were very nice.

The French are the most chauvinistic people of Europe and in the world they are only surpassed by the Americans and the Japanese.
The French were of great service to the Americans in their war of independence.

I am surprised, both at the degree of French self-loathing, and that Germans like them best! Maybe Germans, whose level of self-loathing is even higher than that of the French, as I strongly suspect, are transferring their sense of identity to the French! And it's unlikely the French are reciprocating...
I would also be very interested in the reasons the French give for the negative view they have of themselves...

He is French/ American! LOL And I'm Italian...everyone loves the Italians...don't they? LOL
