Glad to hear things were not as final as initially thought.

Start digging up the people known as "ombudsmen". The nursing home may hvae one, the local County may have one, the state certainly has a department. There is also the local paper and TV. They can give you hints as well as actually going to bat for you. You can also write your congressman if it is a federal matter. Dropping by in person is even better.

Getting records...find out where they are and write; better yet, call. If you can, get your MD's office to help with this, as they will have less trouble than you do getting these papers together. Make sure to keep a record of who you contact when and about what, including their names (proper spelling, phone and fax numbers. If you are told you will see some action, ask when to expect it, and advise them you'll   give them a call if you don'y hear from them by that point (or two business weeks, no records retrieval should take longer than that).

Purrr from Frangipani she's doing so well.
we're praying that the hospital will keep her for as long as she needs.
