it sounds so cliched BUT
when the right person comes along you do know! It may not strike like a lightning bolt but it leaves all the other (nearly) right people in the water. Sometimes it takes time to realise how special someone is to you. I also think it really depends on circumstances and where your current life path is taking you. Sometimes a partner just doesn't fit in the picture that well.
