Reminds me of Wordsworth's: "One impulse from a vernal wood / May teach you more of man / Of moral evil and of good / Than all the sages can".     Of course, Wordsworth is here referring to Nature, but reflecting on these words has really taken me far. Very well reflected too, in you fine post

One’s perception of evil (and good) is absolutely a reflection of their belief system. Those we believe we have the power to control the evil that touches our lives live life pursuing happiness versus fearing evil. The do not resign themselves to the notion that it must exist and therefore we should always be looking over our shoulder or dodging it. Evil is not a power (in my mind). It is a result of inner thinking.
