You think, Gramsci? Soon, as in the next two years? Or soon, as in
we invade Iran to get out of Iraq?  Or soon, as in within the next decade, depending upon the president, the Congress, the instability of Iraq and its neighbors?  Or relatively soon, because the people of the United States are sick and tired of a pointless war without direction?  I'm for the latter and a president that works to get us out of Iraq.  Let's see.  That would be Edwards, Clinton, Obama, and Hagel (if he throws his hat in).  As far as I know, Giuliani is pro-war. McCain is as well.  I don't know where the rest stand, but, then, they're not really front-runners.  Romney will never make it, but he's for staying in Iraq as well.  It's really sad...

Right you are, Toby. I find the oil angle downright laughable, considering
that Bush shored up his invasion arguments by telling Americans that the Iraqi oilfields would pay for the war and the reconstruction.  Yeah, that's worked out real well so far.  American casualties have hit 3300 and Bush is digging in his heels about staying, and meanwhile, just across the border, Iran is building up its nuclear capability, bragging about it, acting with impunity, threatening Israel, taking hostages -- and the United States and the United Kingdom act as if they're in some schooyard posturing contest between two idiots that really don't want to fight but feel they have to say something to keep their reps with the other schoochildren.  It's f**king ridiculous.

Saul & Toby
And, of course, the blood of countless Iraqi civilians. But it will be over soon.

They were liars then and they are liars now
When they wanted to invade and occupy Iraq to steal its oil, Bush and Blair lied to us saying Saddam could launch missiles at us in 40 minutes, and anyway the aim of the aggression was to give the Iraqis human rights.

Now they are lying to us saying a minority of terrorist Iraqis are fighting each other and want us there to protect them - when they are actually trying to kick out the occupying troops. But the irony is - they can't exploit the oil they went there for!

It is a crime against our soldiers that they have been placed in this untenable situation by governments which have behaved and are behaving like 19th century imperialists. The blood of brave young Americans and Brits is on the hands of Bush and Blair.
