not all males are that averse to romance
i waited till 23.30 before asking max if he rememebered what day it was, he confessed to having planned to get me flowers and a gift but he forgot! I think the story of your 25th anniversary just proves my thoery : not everyone is lucky when it comes to big occasions, for some it works like a dream, for the likes of us: we end up with the stories for grandchildrn. thank you for taking the time to comment and share your experience, it means a lot.

lindo, you are a survivor girl.No matter how disappointing it was,
you still tell it with a humorous voice.  I find when important things deteriorate into absurdity it helps to laugh about it.  Its either scream, throw a tantrum or kill someone.  These things all require too much effort.  This will be a nice story to tell your grandkids one day.  As for Max not wishing you happy anniversary its a male thing....Remember men cant multitask....On my silver wedding anivers last year I really wanted a special celebration.  Hubby couldnt be fussed.  Well, I was still plotting my romantic celebration when my grandson spent a few nights with us.  He was sick throwing up,running tummy.  Hubby and I started feeling abit sick leading up to our anniversary and the idea of organising a party became too much.  On the day both of us were as sick as our grandson had been two days before.  I couldnt even cook let alone eat.  So much for a fabulous 25th celebration.

Hello Guru

No one is as minus as Max, he gives me a cash gift on Valentine's day so he won't have to bother with picking a gift.

You know what the sad bit is: i'm an Aries= a hopeless romantic. who is the idiot that said Aries and Gemini go well together???????? NO idea.  Still he has his good points (one half of him, that is), they just don't surface on big days like this.

Thank you Linter
It was not difficult to put the words together, reliving those stressing 3 days was the hard part.

Hi lindo 'G'
So beautifully narrated. Amazing! Yes, it didn't occur to me that women are so very particular, not that many of the men are not, but I seem to me minus when it comes to practical things in life. Particularly loved your picturesque expression: "along with a stupid photographer who couldn’t take a single decent shot of us. I did not get the boats in the background, only a black emptiness that swallowed the outline of my hairdo and inflated Max’s dark suit into infinity".   Superb!!!
