I believe you are correct, Troosha
I was also disappointed awhile back to hear Bill Cosby doesn't treat the people who work for him very nicely...quite badly, as a matter of fact. Too easy to be duped when you only want to believe the best about those who entertain, enchant and/or inspire with their art. Or with policies, agendas, religious leadership.
Thank you, celebrated Lady/Poetess for reading!

I suspect any number of our TV heroes or heroines have lived rather tarnished lives. It kind of goes hand in hand with “Hollywood” living or living large. The faces we see on the tube are merely a façade but it’s always disappointing when we read or hear something that bursts our bubble. Flo and Greg is not a pretty mental image.

Yes, disgusting I suppose because of the image of the show - family values
held high and the squeaky clean illusion of the characters..blech, yech...innocence and cradles molested.
Thanks for reading, Lady!

I think children haven't developed a full perspective yet and the illusions can and oft' do carry over to adulthood. This is why I believe what kids absorb; be it television, movies, music, games, etc. should be paid careful attention to by those guiding them. Not necessarily censored in all cases, but the grown-ups should be aware. My little soap box for the day...:)
Yeah, Greg was cute; Peter was my boy, though. And Marcia's hair was quite lovely, much as it pains me to admit it, LOL. Thank you for visiting, OTA.

I had heard this a while back and like you was sort of shocked. Talion's point of keeping some perspective about celebrities is well put.
I had a crush on Greg.. and I wanted my hair to look just like Marcia's..lol

Yes, while the show was in production, Mary
"Greg" was 16 - 17 years old at the time; it went on for over a year, according to the person who informed me. Definite jail bait...:) Bad "Mom"!
Yep, Alice rocked!
Thank you for visiting.

I didn't know that, either! Yikes! What was she thinking? You mean, this was going on while they filmed the show? Alice was my favourite. --Joy!Mary

Excellent and wise comment, Talion..Thank you
I was a bit surprised over my shock and disappointment; would think by now, as an adult in this "do anything" world, not much would have that effect...kind of good to know I'm not completely jaded...:) Thought I'd poke a little fun at my reaction whilst scolding Flo.

It shouldn't be surprising that the private lives of many are so dramatically different than their public personas, but it is. Too often we want to believe so much we pull the wool over our own eyes.
We as a society place entertainers and celebrities on pedestals then revel in tearing them down. We throw roses at their feet and sling mud in their faces. We hate to love them and love to hate them. Fortune is indeed a wonderful thing, but you can keep the fame.
