People like Jackson and Sharpton need a reason to be, smartdog. These
kinds of cases are that. They're the face of racial outrage. I think they do more harm than good. In the case of the woman, I don't really give a damn about her circumstances, which are immaterial, but her actions regarding these young men should be dealt with. She needs to go to jail (and the fact that these false allegations allowed a rapist -- which may not be the correct term, because we know she was brutalized but she may not have been raped -- to go free because she had the police arresting those lacrosse players). And maybe they should investigate to see if she has a pimp...

Personally, I blame Jesse Jackson, Nifong, and all the other demogogues who were more than happy to travel to N.C. to see three "white boys" hanged. I believe Nifong not only tried to seize an opportunity to gain re-election, but that he kow-towed(?) to Jackson and other race rioters.
The young woman has obviously had a troubled life. Now she is caught in a lie and has a new child to take care of. Not only is she worse of than she was, there still may be an actual rapist out there on the streets. And that's what happens when Jesse Jackson comes to help you.
