I'm so, so sorry, for your Mommy's dog and for Makeda.
I check every day for new alerts... I get emails from the ASPCA. I go to the website for my cat's food and for the FDA. I was so nervous. Turns out it's mostly wet food and my kids only eat dry (better for teeth, said vet a long time ago), and we've been okay. But, I was so nervous at one point was going to make their food with supplements and rice, vegetables and meat... but I don't trust meat either! This was a horrible, foul and monumentally outrageous and sad situation. I am so very sorry. I remember your stories about going through the drive through at Wendy's to get cheeseburgers for Makeda and Autumn. Your love of your doggies is so special. Petie dances with me, and occasionally sings. But cats are tricky and tripping is inevitable.
Your comment to me was sweet, and you have had so much influence, inspiration on me, for me... I love to think of you out there with the new puppy, working, bright colors and desert sky. One day I will show up and we will dance with doggies. :)

azur, last night, this late in the game, they added one more puppy food.
The list is still growing, so people cannot relax and think that this bad food 'episode' has passed.
They are estimating an informal count, anecdotal and not confirmed by lab tests, (who has the $$$? after treatments and then euthanasia, for lab tests) that approximately 39,000 American pets may have died.
China still eats doggies and fails to understand their places in our homes and hearts ( we are admittedly 'over the top' like the Brits, with our pet relationships) and the Chinese food producers made a grave error in judgement about PET food.

Thank you, all my readers and commentators....for your sympathy and
good wishes. Maybe you should start cooking for your pets as we may soon begin to do.
We are working on the perfect stew recipe, full of veggies and some grains and meats. At least we willknow where the ingredients are coming from and we will not be adding melamine.
God bless us every one.

It's so hard to lose a companion, especially one who was always
there with love and appreciation, and probably a big smile, too... My heartfelt sympathies to all this good dog's family and friends!
