Yes, Bhaskar, you have understood that very well.
It's natural for us all to work together in units of some kind to help the species. I suppose there are alternatives to the nuclear family, but there should be more emphasis on the extended family as well as just the nuclear family so that there is always a support system in place to guide the young through the early years and difficulties of getting to grips with life. If that is lacking then they become like birds who haven't been taught properly how to fly, or at least to fly together rather than on their own.

Hi Tony
Again an exquisite subject to discuss: individual vs. society. Josephine, the sole bird...if I have understood correctly, with its wings broken must strive to fly, which she could not have, without the support of the family and/or the society.

Thanks Neil - it's true, I was lying in the spring sun seeing all these
feathered friends circling around. I started writing the poem about something else, and then these birds just flew their way into it!

Birdwatching wisdom? None in my limited reading asked: bird or feather-gr8!
This time i saw and heard some internal rhyme. I loved it, and imitate it when I am able, from Maya Angelou (very much a part of African American culture and idiom, including sermons & gospel songs). Though I may have generalized for any who is expert at American anthropology. shalomfromneil
